Today, in our Character Counts assembly, we focused on the pillar of RESPECT. Ms. Klabunde and I, tried to convey to the students that respect is more than treating others kind.  We discussed self-respect, respect for our buildings, our possessions, our community, and so on.  Teachers were given a "I showed respect form" that students are to take home and should be filled out when they are caught doing something respectful.  They are not allowed to fill out the forms themselves and were told not to do something respectful just so they can tell a teacher or parent what they did.  Their respectful acts are supposed to be recognized by anyone but themselves.  This could be a teacher, janitor, cook, friend, or community members alike. Please, if you see any student being respectful inside or outside of school, take the time to fill the form attached by the link below and send it back to the school.  If a student brings a signed form to me they will get a special treat, and their form will be posted on the RESPECT Wall of Fame, near the lunch room.  I will accept forms for the next month and look forward to be inundated with students showing me their acts of respect.
