Stanley Community Public School District No. 2

Annual School Election- June 11, 2024

Polling Place- Stanley High School Building in the Commons Area

Polls Open: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The Stanley School Board at their regular Board Meeting, March 14, 1989 voted to consolidate all school district polling places, having one central polling place located at the Stanley High School Building, located at 109 8th Ave SW, Stanley ND.

Qualified voters from the entire School District may vote for the candidates, but the candidates shall be legal resident of their area.

One (1) School Board members will be elected from Area 4 (3 year term). Area Four (4) consists of the Townships of all McGahan, Alger, Purcell, McAlmond, Sikes and Burke Townships plus that portion of the Townships of Lowland, Stave, Egan, Kickapoo, Brookbank, Austin and Oakland within the boundaries of the Stanley Community Public School District No. 2.   This is a three-year term. The incumbent is Jodi Bohmbach.

An individual seeking election to the board of the Stanley Community Public School District No. 2 shall prepare and sign a document (Statement of Intent) stating the individual's name and the position, for which that individual is a candidate. A candidate shall also file a Statement of Interests as required by section 16.1-09-02. These documents must be filed with the school district business manager or mailed to and in the possession of the business by 4:00 p.m. on April 8, 2024 (64th day before the election).

Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, the 11th day of June 2024, annual election will be held for the purpose of electing members of school boards.(NDCC 15-28-11).

Polls will be open at eight o’clock p.m. CDT (8:00 a.m.) and will close at seven o’clock p.m. CDT (7:00 p.m.) of that day. (15-28-06, 07, 09 NDCC). The polls will be held at the Stanley High School-commons area. Go to west side of high school located at 109 8th Ave SW and use door 1

Absentee Ballot:

Application forms to receive a ballot for the annual school election June 11th, 2024 are available from Barb Reese, Business Manager of the Stanley Community Public School District No. 2. The District Office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Application forms must be signed and filed before the ballots can be obtained.

3.You can email Barbara.Reese@k12.nd.us to get your application sent to you by mail or email; or

4.You can go to the Secretary of State North Dakota website (https://vip.sos.nd.gov/absentee/Default.aspx) to get your application for absentee ballot.

Be sure to mark school election on the application.

Once you fill out your application you can:

You can drop your application off at the district office located at 109 8th Ave SW-Door 1 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday

Application forms must be completed, signed and returned before the ballots can be obtained.

Once the application has been received, the district office will mail or give you the ballot along with a secrecy envelope and a return envelope. Make sure to fold your ballot and seal it in the secrecy envelope. Put the secrecy envelope inside the voter affidavit return envelope and seal. On the back of the return envelope is the voter’s affidavit. This must be signed and dated before mailing or dropping off at the district office.

Please make sure you have given enough time to receive your ballot and return by mail or if dropping off the ballot at the district office which is located at 109 8th Ave SW-Door 1.

Absentee ballots need to be postmarked by June10 , 2024 or dropped off at the district office located at 109 8th Ave SW, Stanley by 5:00 p.m. on June 10, 2024 in order to be counted.
