On December 4, 2024, Stanley High School Juniors and Seniors took part in a comprehensive Financial Literacy Boot Camp, designed to equip them with essential life skills for managing personal finances. Throughout the day, students rotated through eight different sessions, each covering an important aspect of financial literacy: insurance, credit, banking, investing for retirement, taxes, college financing, budgeting and saving, and loans.
This valuable event was organized by Future Business Leaders of America members Payton Lystad and Erika Littlefield, who worked diligently to bring this educational experience to their peers. The workshops were led by a group of knowledgeable professionals who provided students with practical advice and insights to help them make informed financial decisions in the future.
The event was made possible through the generous support of several local businesses and organizations, who provided speakers and resources for the sessions. A heartfelt thank you goes to the following businesses for their involvement:
Brandi Larson Agency
Cornerstone Bank
Bravera
Thrivent
Norman M Mell & Associates PC
Minot State University
Town and Country Credit Union
These partnerships enabled Stanley High School students to gain valuable insights and real-world financial knowledge that will undoubtedly serve them well as they transition to adulthood and financial independence.
