This is our lost and found table at the high school. There's lots of items that need to find their original home - including multiple pairs of shoes, a full backpack, and a coat. If your child is missing something, encourage them to check the table. Next week we will clean off the table and donate the items.

Today, Mrs. Verano’s science class built DNA models using Twizzlers and gummy worms. Students have been learning that chromosomes are composed of DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid). As part of the activity, they had the opportunity to create their own DNA models. While connecting the base pairs, some students accidentally mismatched them, which led to discussions about mutations. It was exciting to see the students actively engaged and enjoying the learning process.

This morning there was a medical situation in one of the hallways at the high school. We asked students not to transition to their next period class to afford that individual some privacy and allow the ambulance personnel room to work. There was no safety concern for the rest of the building. Once the hallway was cleared, students resumed their day as normal.

Today, Mrs. Verano’s science class dissected a sea star as part of their lesson on sexual and asexual reproduction. The students were fascinated as they carefully observed the sea star’s anatomy. They noted that, unlike humans, sea stars lack an external skeleton and instead possess an endoskeleton. This hands-on activity not only captivated their interest but also deepened their understanding of the sea star’s unique structure and reproductive processes. It was an engaging and educational experience!

Please read the following message from Coach Leith: Stanley Blue Jays Football Good morning/afternoon. Appears some misinformation and/or incomplete information floating around about the BlueJay football program. Rumors of my Firing, Resignation, or Death (sorry Mark Twain) have been greatly exaggerated. After a lot of discussion last month and end of season it was decided-agreed that now may a good time to transition positions. And maybe should back up even farther. Day 1 when I took the Lead, it was discussed that this is only a transition position. We need to work toward building the program up- both players and coaches. I believe my words “I'm too old to be the long term face of BlueJay FB” IE-takes a lot of time and energy to do this. This is not new. We had this same discussion in Spring of 2024. It was decided then that the timing was not quite ready. Fast forward to 2025, this timing we agree is different/better. Maybe too many nuts and bolts in that info, but I think its helpful to remember the big picture. For 2025 we are intending/hopeful that all of the '24 coaches are back. I intend to CONTINUE coaching this fall as an assistant. Thank you for all the community support. I've said it before and will continue to say it, I never doubted it for a minute. I did NOT think that you folks would be so passionate about the change. I should have known. Sorry, sum that up with one short story. My two high school- a while ago- daughters, both very active in Basketball, Volleyball, Band, Choir, were asked by my brother their favorite thing about high school? Response- “definitely football” We're passionate about our FB. Take that Dom Izzo. Again, thank a ton for the support. All is good with Stanley FB. Turn that passion toward OUR kids...... Basketball, wrestling, cheer, speech, drama, music, etc etc. See you at next event. Won't see you this fall as I'll still have my back to you on the sidelines. Congrats Coach Lorenz!! Go BlueJays Coach Leith
