We are aware that multiple schools in the state have received spoof phone calls stating there is a active shooter or bomb in the building. So far none have turned out to be real. We have been in contact with local law enforcement. If Stanley were to receive a threatening call, we will shelter in place while the police clear the building. To clarify, we have not received a threatening phone call but are sharing this out of an abundance of caution and transparency.

The 5th grade scientist are setting up for their PBL (problem based learning) project! The problem: very few classroom models of the planets are scaled correctly, which leads to a misunderstanding of their sizes! We will be learning lots about the planets and creating models with correctly scaled planets in relation to one another. Today they kicked off their group work by reading an article with important information about our solar system!

🌟 Exciting Visit from Brendan & Tanner Wilson, Stanley Alumni! 🌟
Today, we had the pleasure of hosting Brendan & Tanner Wilson, Stanley Alumni, in Mrs. Murphy's Foods class! Brendan shared captivating stories about his travels and experiences in the army, giving our students a unique insight into the world beyond high school.
The highlight of the day was a hands-on activity where students learned about MREs (Meals Ready-to-Eat) and even had the chance to cook with them. They creatively chopped and mixed MRE ingredients, adding various items to enhance the flavors. 🍲👩🍳
A big thanks to Brendan & Tanner for taking the time to inspire our students! 🎓✨

Our 2nd graders became inventors and practiced their perseverance strategies while working with partners! They were tasked with creating an invention that could solve a problem in our world or help people and animals. After sketching their creation, they added labels and gave the invention a name - lots of robots, robotic arms and self-driving vehicles!
