Congratulations to our very own Mrs. Camino who was named the North Dakota Student Council Advisor of the Year! Her students share that she is a mentor who encourages and inspires and works to ensure her council members succeed as leaders and individuals. They say how they appreciate that she is caring and supportive and that she finds ways to challenge them to grow. Way to go, Mrs. Camino!!

In today’s science class, Mrs. Verano guided her students through an exciting exploration of the urinary system, focusing on how it filters blood to keep our bodies healthy. To bring this concept to life, students had the opportunity to dissect pig kidneys. They carefully examined the different parts, learning how each one plays a vital role in the organ’s function. The hands-on activity sparked curiosity, fostered engagement, and gave students a deeper understanding of how our bodies work.

Mrs. Verano’s Science class had an exciting opportunity to meet Mrs. Tara Nardacci, a Doctor of Nursing Practice and Family Nurse Practitioner. With warmth and expertise, Mrs. Nardacci shared her knowledge of the medical field and even gave a hands-on demonstration of how intubation is performed, a fascinating experience for everyone in the room.
Our students were eager to ask questions, and Mrs. Nardacci took the time to thoughtfully answer each one, fueling their curiosity and expanding their understanding. This visit brought our lessons about body systems to life, giving students a glimpse into how science applies in the real world and inspiring them to explore new possibilities for their future.

Mrs. Verano’s Science class had the opportunity to meet Mrs. Carly Mudderman, who gave an informative presentation on CPR and how an AED works. She demonstrated the proper CPR techniques and explained what to do if someone is unconscious. The students were amazed and had the chance to practice the demonstrations themselves. This hands-on experience enhanced their understanding of our current lessons on the circulatory, nervous, and respiratory systems.

The Elementary School participated in a coloring contest with the High School Creative Writing class and we had some amazing coloring sheets turned in! 7th hour FACS class had a small scale cupcake war...we all came out winners in this one!
Mr. Hellman’s 4th graders have been working hard on a research project. The catch, they are not allowed to use any form of technology for research! They have been learning how to use books and encyclopedias to research lesser known presidents. There was hesitation at first but now they are enjoying learning about these important historical figures without any tech to help!
