Essler's Biology have been working on their Pectinase (Exploring Enzymes) Pre-Lab! Using their resources, power words, and their science talk they were to write about enzymes in their Background. They were then tasked with "TAG"ging their peers with positive-forward feedback! They were to TELL a positive, ASK a question, and GIVE a suggestion. Y'all, zoom in and read their TAG Feedback papers! Proud of these kiddos helping one another with scientific literacy! #proudbluejay #esslerscience

Essler's Biology students performed their Pectinase (Exploring Enzymes) Lab today! Love Lab days! Ask any SHS Biologist and they can tell you all about enzymes!

Your Stanley Student Council members are proud to host Jeans for Vets on Tuesday, November 12. In honor of veterans day, we are participating in a national dress down day and all staff members may wear jeans if they make a $5 donation. The money will be sent to the GI Go Fund, which assists our nations veterans in seeking employment, attending college, finding housing, and obtaining health care. This is a very worthy cause.

A couple weeks ago, about 80 students participated in a chili cook off. It was a great opportunity for hands-on learning, but now we have a couple of crockpots that got mixed up. If your child brought a crockpot to school that day, would you please check your cupboard. We are looking for a West Bend silver crockpot and a red crockpot. One has the family name on it. Thank you for checking and participating in the crockpot exchange of 2019.
The phones are back up and working at both the high school and elementary school.

Students used their engineering skills in the candy corn tower challenge. They planned how to build a free standing tower using candy corn and toothpicks, wrote their outcome and reflected on what could be changed.

Stanley Band Members, Braxton Istilart & Trystan Johnson, were selected to perform as members of the Symphonic Band at the Northwest Festival of Music at Minot State University. They practiced for two days with students from North Dakota & Montana. The festival ended with an afternoon concert.

The Stanley FFA members are packed and headed home from the 92nd National FFA Convention and Expo. The students had a great time enhancing their leadership skills through general sessions and workshops while also networking with agricultural businesses at the expo. The members enjoyed an Old Dominion concert, kissing the bricks on the racetrack of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and a rodeo performance during their stay in Indianapolis.

Elementary Math Tip: Skip counting helps develop number sense, teaches patterns in numbers, and helps lay the foundation for multiplication! This is a skill that can easily be practiced with your child in the car, while making supper, in the grocery store aisle...anywhere! Skip counting starts as early as Kindergarten with counting by 10's up to 100. There are many fun songs, rhythms, and chants that can make this skill fun and easy to learn. Go online, find the catchy skip counting tunes you like best, and have fun with your child!
We have been receiving very generous donations to our playground fund. We want to thank everyone for your continued support of our school and students!
Essler's Biology students are learning everything Enzymes, our personal biological catalysts! They've spent the last few days manipulating with foam models. They've learned about anabolic vs catabolic reactions, enzyme specificity, competitive vs noncompetitive inhibitors, and enzymes relationship with activation energy! Proud of these future scientists! #powerwords #enzymes #esslerscience
