Sometimes we get caught up in all the things that are bad in our world. We let the darkness steal our light. We forget to stop and truly see the good in our lives. Yesterday, that is where I was at. The past month we have heard about all the hurt that is happening at SHS...and I wonder if we got lost in that pain and we forgot to look for the good? Well, yesterday I left my office while 2 students were getting some coffee from my keurig. When I came back in they were gone but they left me a surprise that brought tears to my eyes and light into the darkness. Words written on the coffee cups that gave me hope. Words that reminded me that there is so much good in our school, in our community and in our world. We just need to stop and look and listen for it...and then go share it with others. Darkness will not overcome the light. #bethelight

Our active threat drill at the high school provided an opportunity for our students to practice what they have learned in our run, hide, fight training. These students did a great job barricading their classroom.

Students piled desks by the door to keep out a threat during our drill.
The drill is complete. It was a successful practice of our protocol. Thank you to area law enforcement, fire department, and the emergency manager for their assistance.
