The 4th graders have been learning about government the last month and soon will start North Dakota Studies. Last Tuesday they took the opportunity to see the state heritage center and state capital first hand. With the assistance of Don and Connie Longmuir they traveled to Bismarck and toured the Heritage Center. After a hands on experience with our history and a quick lunch they traveled to the state capital were they met North Dakota Supreme Court Justice Jensen and then took a moment to have their photo taken with Governor Burgum. They finished their busy day with a tour of the capital building and even got to go to the top floor. It was a wonderful learning experience for all involved!

After having the opportunity to visit with law enforcement and those involved, we have received reliable information that the comments the students made, while in incredibly poor taste, do not constitute specific or real threats to the students or staff in the district.
Words have definite power and consequence, as the students involved have learned. Stanley Public Schools has taken the comments seriously and has worked to ensure student safety. Appropriate disciplinary action will be taken in accordance with school policies.
We are very thankful to those who shared the information with law enforcement and with Stanley schools. Students, staff, parents, and other patrons should never hesitate to reach out with questions or concerns.
School will resume as usual on Monday.

Looking for a place to have a Thanksgiving Neal?

Our one-act play is going to state! If you would like to contribute to their goodie bags, they are located in the high school workroom. We have 13 bags to fill. Congratulations to our actors and break a leg!

3rd graders listened to the book “Balloons Over Broadway” which told about the creation of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Then they created their own balloons.

In honor of Veterans Day, our Jr. High Student Council members recently hosted “Jeans for Vets”, a national fundraiser for the GI Go Fund, which assists our nation’s veterans in seeking employment, attending college, finding housing, and obtaining health care. These kids worked so hard making flyers, spreading the word, and collecting donations. Our students raised an amazing FIVE HUNDRED EIGHTY-FIVE DOLLARS to donate to this program. We are so proud of these kids, and our amazing, caring community. ❤️❤️❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
