Red Ribbon Week starts tomorrow!
It’s a busy week at Stanley schools. Parent teacher conferences are from 4-7 on Monday, October 21st and Thursday, October 24th.
On Monday, join us as we continue our focus on mental health with our speaker, Jeff Yalden. Jeff will present from 7-9 in the high school gym.
It’s also Red Ribbon Week! Check out the photo attached for our dress up days. During Red Ribbon Week we will focus on reasons to live a drug and alcohol free life.
We had a great 3 days of school this week in Ag Class! Ag 1 students are refreshing their memory on shop safety while they record “How to be safe in the shop” videos, while the Ag 4 class is finishing up some update projects within our Ag Department, so they put their hands on the door that they have refinished for the classroom.
Array Bakery day in Mrs. Stafslien’s math class! 🍪🍩🍪 We had stations where the students used “baked goods” to make arrays! Arrays are representations of multiplication facts. They had to make their own arrays and use real world examples and write the fact. It was a blast! Plus, they all looked so cute in their chef hats! 👩🏼🍳👨🏼🍳
His Royal Majesty King Hellman III has gone too far! Today Mr. Hellman's Social Studies class decided his taxes were too much and staged their own Boston Tea Party. Classes learned about the Tea Tax and then enjoyed tea and crackers while discussing a Revolution!

Elementary Math Tip: Do you have a change jar at home? Have your child make equal amounts of coin piles. For example, 13 dimes in one pile has the same value as 4 quarters and 6 nickels in another pile. How about making 74 cents with the least number of coins? let your child count the change in your pocket at the end of each day. Frequently allow them to count the change in their own piggybank. Mastering the skill of coin counting takes TIME and PRACTICE!

The Tuesday Group in First Grade Music wrote a song today! First, we figured out how we wanted our melody to sound using La, So, and Mi. Then, we counted the syllables in each phrase so we could add the words! There is a video of them singing their song on Miss Olson's Music Class page here on facebook!
Red Ribbon Week!
Today students at the elementary school will be getting a flyer that says we will have "Hat Day" every Friday for $1. Since we don't have school this Friday they can wear them tomorrow. (Money will go towards a new playground)
We do not have school Thursday or Friday this week.

Miss Zahn’s Language Arts classes learned about possessive nouns by having a scavenger hunt around the classroom to identify which items belonged to each person! The most frequently said statement in the room went a little something like this, “This is so much fun!” We LOVE when Language Arts is fun!! ♥️
No elementary cross country practice today
Congratulations to the following Stanley students who were accepted to the Northwest Music Festival Band and Choir at Minot State. Those accepted to the choir are Trapper Simmers, Josh Runyon, Laura Groomer, Kaydence Vachal and Morgan Vachal. Those accepted to the band are Trystan Johnson and Braxton Istilart (not pictured).
