As a reward for all of their hard work during our chemical and physical change unit, the 5th graders had a ✨BONUS✨ experiment today! They got to see the reaction that happens when mixing baking soda and vinegar inside a ziploc bag!





STEM engineers have been learning about simple machines and how they make our work easier! We've done several labs exploring simple and compound machines! Enjoy their pics!
Ornithologists (bird biology) have been learning how to be better birders, learning local birds, and spent the last few days exploring how biologists might estimate population sizes!
Biologists have been exploring group behavior, genetics, and beginning energy flow in ecosystems using African organisms as a theme! Everything they have been exposed to is real data taken by real scientists helping change the world, it's pretty cool!
Human A&P had worked through bioethics, the language of anatomy, and human body orientation.

🍩👩🍳 ARRAY BAKERY DAY 👨🍳🍩
3rd graders became bakers and worked on arrays! Arrays are representations of multiplication facts. They examined "real life" bakery arrays and demonstrated the commutative property!











Bus #32, Gary Nordloef, will be back to it's regularly scheduled route and pickups next week (Sept. 18th).

Update for the week of Sept. 18-22 for Bus #27 (Mr. LaBar). Riders who live in Ross will continue to be picked up by Bus #29. Rural riders will be picked up at their homes by Bus #3.

Let's fill the stands for Blue Jay Buddy night! We take on the Kenmare/Bowbells/Burke Central Honkers at 7pm. There will be a tailgate provided by United Quality Cooperative and lemonade provided by Stanley FBLA!

ATTENTION 5/6th GRADE FOOTBALL PARENTS: Here is some information about buddy night for tonight's game vs. Kenmare!
All 5th grade and 6th grade football players are invited to participate in buddy night with a Stanley varsity football team. Each participant will be matched up with a varsity player and warm up with the team before Friday's game.
Participants can start showing up around 5 o'clock to get a jersey for warm-ups and watch players prep equipment and the pregame taping .
Participants should be to the high school locker room or gym area no later than 5:45 PM to be ready to start warm-ups .

Stanley Elementary Students were working on bus safety today by practicing bus evacuation procedures. Thank you to teachers and staff for keeping our kids safe.



Mrs. Stafslien's 3rd grade SS classes had a visitor today! Krista Littlefield came to tell us all about Scandinavia! She shared experiences from her time there, displayed items for the kids to explore, and baked us some delicious food to sample! 🇮🇸🇫🇮🇸🇪🇳🇴🇩🇰








Due to a shortage of bus driver subs, there will not be rural service for Bus #32 (Gary Nordloef) on Thursday and Friday, September 14-15, 2023. There will be a mini bus that picks up riders at 502 1st St. NW in Stanley, Ragamuffins Ranch Daycare, and the corner of 1st St. SE and 1st Ave SE in Stanley. Afternoon will drop off at those same locations, as well as Little Jays Daycare.

Today Mr. Hellman’s fourth grade social studies classes concluded their September 11th studies with an art project for Ann Nelson. Students made general thinking of you cards for members of the community to put a smile on their face. The class enjoyed learning about the attacks and doing this project for Ann.





The 5th grade scientists have been learning all about chemical reactions! Today we mixed substances to figure out which two would react to make slime!





Today Mr. Hellman’s fourth grade social studies classes continued learning about the September 11 attacks. Today’s lesson took the students on a virtual field trip of the twin towers before and after the attacks. Students continue to learn the importance of that day and honoring those who lost their lives. Tomorrow his classes will be participating in the September 12 project. They will be making cards to put a smile on someone’s face in honor of local resident Ann Nelson. If you know someone that could use a few cards from some talented fourth graders, please let Mr. Hellman know and he will get some to them.
