Mrs. Hunt's 3rd grade Science classes wrapped up their unit on Electric Interactions by experimenting with static electricity! They tested different items like salt, aluminum foil, paper, toothpicks and of course their hair to see if those objects were affected by static electricity.
There is still time left to order! Stanley Band is making homemade pumpkin pie & apple pie next week just in time for Thanksgiving. Orders are due November 20th.

Today is World Kindness Day. First introduced in 1998 by the World Kindness Movement, World Kindness Day offers an opportunity to highlight good deeds in the community and the common thread of kindness. In honor of this day, we'd like to share a video of a very special act of kindness. On November 8, students at Stanley High School came together to stand with a fellow Blue Jay as he continues his fight against cancer. Thank you to the students and staff who shaved their hair and donated money to help raise $29,261 that will help with Jacob's medical expenses. We hope you felt the love that day in our gym. Your fellow Blue Jays are standing with you, Jacob!

Bus Stop Change
Effective 11/14/23
In order to address capacity issues on the bus, there will be a couple changes made to the morning stops only:
At 7:40, Bus #17 will stop at the corner of Noma Drive and Adeline Drive, then go to a stop midway on Noma Drive, then make a 3rd stop at the corner of Settlers Way and Adeline Drive. The bus will then go to the elementary school for drop off, followed by a second loop through the Rian Addition to pick up at the remaining stops.
This change is only for the stops listed above. The stop locations are the same, the time will be slightly earlier than previous days.
Reminder: FFA Meeting Tomorrow!
For the last two days Mr. Hellman’s Social Studies classes have been learning about the importance of Veteran’s Day and thanking those who served. They finished up today by making cards to thank Veterans locally and far away. To all who served or are serving, thank you!
The Stanley Band will be doing their Annual Pie Fundraiser again. Just in time for Thanksgiving!
The band makes homemade 9 inch pies completely from scratch. We will have pumpkin pie and apple pie available. The pumpkin pie comes completely baked and the apple pie comes as a take and bake or ready to store in the freezer for later. Each homemade pie is $20.

The Blue Jays will play Trenton at 3:00 PM on Monday, November 6 in the first round of the region tournament.
Students can sign up for a fan bus in the high school office. The fan bus will be leaving at 1:30 PM.
The 3rd graders finished the novel "Poppy" this quarter and celebrated by having a day filled with themed activities! 🦉🐭
The story takes place in a forest with the main characters being a mouse and an owl. The classes dissected owl pellets, made porcupine treats, watched owl videos, created forest maps, and made wooden owl ornaments! What a fun day! 🌲🌲
Sixth graders used their knowledge of fractions to make a yummy snack today! We doubled the recipe for s'mores trail mix, then divided it into equal portions to share. Thank you to the parents who donated supplies for this fun lesson!
There will be NO SCHOOL on Friday, November 10th for the observance of Veterans Day.
