Reminder that there is the usual early out on Wednesday (2:40 at Elementary, 2:50 at High School) this week. NO SCHOOL on Thursday, September 22nd and Friday, September 23rd.
We understand and appreciate the concern raised about the planned lessons, provided by our elementary school counselor, which are planned to be held in various classes from October 6th - 18th. Each section of every grade will have a grade appropriate 40 min lesson. Prior to classroom instruction, information will be available on our counselor's page https://www.stanley.k12.nd.us/page/elementary-lesson-plans. A packet will also be sent home to each family which will have information on the planned lessons. If anyone would like more information on the lessons, please reach out to our school counselor Eden Cuypers –by phone at 701-628-2422 or by e-mail at Eden.Cuypers@k12.nd.us. If families are not comfortable with the planned lessons, their student will have the option to opt out of the topic being discussed, and students will be provided with an alternative lesson.
Parent Teacher Conferences on Sept. 20th and 27th from 4:00-7:00 pm. Elementary students have scheduled conference times with their teachers. High School teachers are available in their classrooms to meet with parents anytime between 4:00 and 7:00 those two days.
We are having bake sale/silent auction for Sarah Brewer on the 27th, during parent/teacher conferences, to offset expenses incurred due to an unforeseen medical event.
If anyone would like to donate baked goods, auction items, or to make donations, that would be greatly appreciated. Also if there are a couple parents willing to volunteer their time to collect money during conferences please email me at jasmynn.halvorson@k12.nd.us.

Head lice has been detected in the Elementary School. Please check your students and keep them home for treatment if you find lice. I have included a quick reference guide for managing head lice, and we encourage parents to follow the appropriate steps to treat and prevent future infestations. Similarly, we are starting to see an increase in sicknesses in the building and would ask your help in keeping students home if they are unwell. As we approach cold and flu season, we will continue to sanitize our facility and promote health habits such as washing hands and covering sneezes, but an essential piece of keeping our students and staff healthy is to prevent as much sickness from entering the building as possible.
Reminder: No School on Thursday, September 22 and Friday, September 23. There will be staff training those two days.

Stanley FFA members will be attending the ND FFA Fall Leadership Conference this weekend in Bismarck, ND. We will be doing a book drive to support the ND FFA Community Service Project this year that donates agricultural books to libraries in the Bismarck/Mandan area. If you would like to support our book drive, you can drop off books at the SHS Office through Friday, September 16th! Here is a link for more information on the service project/book recommendations!

Well that escalated quickly! Mr. Hellman’s 4th grade started the week by learning about angels and measurements. Today they set up equations to help them solve for missing angles. They were intimidated at first but are angle experts now!
