Parents of Stanley High School Students: Last week students in grades 9-12 met in the gym for an assembly on improving behavior and being respectful of others. Students in grades 9-12 will now follow suit with the behavior logging system started with grades 7/8 earlier in the month. If a student demonstrates poor behavior in the classroom, the teacher will log the behavior and contact the parent. After two log entries, students will enter a Lunch Academy where we will learn about appropriate and respectful behaviors and how our behaviors impact others. In order to be released from the Lunch Academy, students will need to complete behavior charts with their teachers and demonstrate proper behavior for three days in a row. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Pulver or Mrs. Brown. Thank you.

Stanley Elementary School held their first ever Battle of the Books competition this week. Battle of the Books is a reading competition involving teams of three to four students. Each grade level division had 10 books designated for the teams to read. The teams “battled” by answering comprehension questions about the books using Kahoot. The top two teams from each division qualify to compete in the regional competition in Williston on March 1st.
The top team in the 3rd/4th grade division was the Super Readers consisting of Molly Hamilton, Sierrah Kanenwisher, and Brooklyn Hedtke. The 5th/6th grade division was won by the Cheesepuffs. Team members are Derrick Hager, Lucas Song, and Kaylynn Desjarlais. Annie Roise, Ashley Walter, Ashley Ellis, and Rebecca Littlefield will be representing Stanley in the 7th/8th grade division. Other students that will be representing Stanley at the regional competition include: Connor Gustavson, Isaak Longmuir, Teegan Blankenship, Payton Lystad, River Nardacci, Savannah Swensrud, and Colter Fladeland.
All participants received a free book. The winning teams received prizes sponsored by Subway and the Stanley Elementary School library.
