The second grade classes have been researching wolves this past week. They were able to learn more about wolves through a Zoom call from a Wolf expert who works in a wolf sanctuary in Washington. It was a great learning experience!

Kindergarten has been learning to draw their notes and rests this week in Music!

The 4th graders have been learning about diversity and how all of us are very different. They have found similarities between themselves and others, and we talked about how boring it would be if everyone in their class was the same! We wrapped up our lesson reading a book titled, "Just Ask" which focuses on differences that many people have such being blind, deaf, having diabetes, allergies, or having autism and ADHD. Our students did a great job, and I'm looking forward to finishing our diversity unit and seeing them be such compassionate and critical thinkers!

For the last few years Miss Olson has taken the 4th grade to the Minot Symphony Orchestra. She was not about to let them miss it this year. On Friday, the classes put on their best dress clothes and virtually attended this year’s concert. The classes enjoyed great pieces of music and learned about some interesting instruments. A great time was had by all!

Congratulations to Ava Schuster for being named to the All-District 16 and All-Tournament teams, as well as, the rest of the Blue Jays for their 4th place finish.

Today in Mr. Hellman’s reading class the students practiced their vocabulary words by going on a QR code hunt. Mr. Hellman hid QR codes and the students found and wrote them down with the help of their iPads. He may have hid some very corny jokes as well!

During these stations, they had to make a plan together for each different station. Then they had to complete that plan while working together as a team.
