💦 WEATHER CHANNEL UPDATE! 🌪
Mrs. Stafslien’s class had the task of creating a weather channel by reporting on a type of storm. They needed to define the storm, describe safety measures to take, and interesting facts about each! We had so much fun doing this! We even had wind (Thanks Brence for the massive fan!), snow, and water during our reports!
*Great job to Dane for being our anchor man!

Elementary Math Tip: With the high use of credit and debit cards, the actual counting of money has become a less familiar practice for children to observe and participate in these days. Help your child make purchases at stores, allowing them time to pay with cash and to count out change. This will help with their math skills and with the concept of spending.

We know there are a lot of questions about our plans for the near future. At this time, we are working through two different scenarios based on the direction of ND Department of Public Instruction and the ND Governor’s Office.
Option 1 - Safe re-entry to school - This will include surveying families/staff that have been out of state, sanitizing of the schools and buses, changes to the school environment (such as lunch rotations to minimize student contact or changes in recess schedule and hallway procedures.)
Option 2 - Potential for long term closing/e-learning - This will include a staff initiated survey/phone call to parents to determine access to technology from home (expect a phone call on Tuesday), developing lessons/packets for younger students, providing access to sack lunches for those with need.
This is a fluid situation during unprecedented times. At this point, we do not know which option the state will determine for schools. We are doing what we can to be prepared for either scenario. We are working with the best interest of our students, staff, and community at heart. More information will be shared throughout the week. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Governor Burgum has ordered all K-12 schools in North Dakota be closed March 16-March 20. So, there will be no school in Stanley this week. More information will be shared when it is available.
Per the guidance from the North Dakota Governor and North Dakota Department of Public Instruction, Stanley School will continue to provide education as usual. This is a fluid situation and we will make additional announcements on any changes if needed. School will resume Monday as scheduled. As the previous announcement stated, all extracurricular activities including practices and contests have been postponed indefinitely. As an extra precaution the school buildings are closed outside regular school hours until further notice. Also, reminder there is no school next Thursday and Friday due to previously scheduled spring break.
The 7-12 dance for tonight, March 13, has been canceled.
Per the NDHSAA, in response to President Trump's Emergency Declaration. All extracurricular activities have been postponed indefinitely. This includes all practices and contests alike. All open gyms will also be postponed until further notice.
