Elementary Math Tip: Speak positively about math and praise effort rather than ability. We know how important reading is and we model this behavior for our children. We need to do the same for math. Don't discount the importance of math by saying, "I'm not a math person, I was never good at math." Instead, explore math in everyday life - have your child count out forks as they set the table, read prices at the grocery store, count out the change in their piggybank or in your pocket. They will begin to realize math is all around them and it's an important part of their daily life.
Students work in small groups to determine what makes a good friend.

Today Mrs. Lindberg's kindergarten met Mr. Hellman's 4th grade. Throughout the year the two classes team up for Kinder Buddies day. The 4th graders help out with various activities that would otherwise be tough for kindergarten. They were pretty happy to meet each other!

Congratulations to Taylor Dean on her recent signing with Mayville State where she will be competing in basketball. Congratulations, you have earned it.
I huge thank you to the Blue Jay Boosters for yet another successful Back to Blue Jay Night. It was wonderful to see so many people turn out to give our student athletes the support and recognition they deserve. Thanks as well to American Bank Center for providing the grilling services, BSN representative Scott Woodmansee for coming to join in the festivities, and Coach Roemmich for helping to minimize the leftovers. Not only do we have many supportive families but a lot of talented cooks as well, much appreciation.
