If you notice state trooper vehicles in our parking lot at the high school today, please don't be alarmed. The NDHP will be utilizing our multipurpose room for training today.

Kudo's to our 4th Grade students and teachers for representing Stanley Community Schools so well. I just received a phone call from the ND Heritage Center in Bismarck, and they expressed how exceptionally well behaved they were on their field trip last week. Several staff/volunteers took notice and conveyed the need to recognize their outstanding behavior. Way to go Blue Jays.

JH Wrestling will be streamed on Twitter Live Stream.

No objections here! Senior forensics successfully completed the 2022 mock trials on Tuesday, November 15th. After two months of classroom preparation, seniors presented arguments, documents, and expert testimony in efforts to represent the state of North Dakota or their clients.
The first case was the State of North Dakota versus Bronnie Parker. Representing the prosecution was Thomas Williams, Danny Littlefield, Vincent Meduna, Hadley DeTienne, and headed by lead attorney Kerrington Lee. This team charged the defense with 3 counts of robbery and 2 counts of theft. The defense of Bronnie Parker was headed by lead attorney Macee Jones along with Autumn Pulver, Dylan Durso, Dylan Lee, and Lukas Meduna. After outstanding courtroom performances and lengthy jury deliberation, a not guilty verdict was rendered for all 5 counts. Great work to both teams for this extremely difficult case.
The second case was the State of North Dakota versus Brett Jackson. Representing the prosecution was Mackenzie Ranum, Tanner Bishop, Logan Ruud, and headed by lead attorney Penny Wolter. The prosecution charged Brett Jackson with 1 count of second degree murder. Representing the defense was Benjamin Wing, Kya Kraft, Colt Nohr, Colter Meiers, Alex Fulton, and headed by lead attorney Kaydence Vachal. After a lengthy battle in the courtroom, the jury rendered a guilty verdict in the murder of Shan Lee and successfully sent Brett Jackson to prison. Extraordinary efforts by both teams on this challenging case.
A special thank you to Wade Enget for serving as the judge and providing valuable lessons of our criminal justice system. His insight and guidance are appreciated. Another thankyou to the office of Clerk of District Court for accommodating the mock trials. Thank you to Madison Rodgers and Heather Lee for making this day a possibility along with other courthouse staff. A final thankyou to the 2022 jurors for spending a day serving jury duty. Jurors included Karen Ruud, Dale Kilen, Arielle Hoaby, Kaitlyn Jacobs, Alan Tillinghast, Linda Urlacher, and Dennis Urlacher. Thanks to Lucio Herrera, Abby Wing, and Dakota Pittsley for their help during the mock trials. Thankyou to all those who helped make the mock trials an authentic and memorable experience. A congratulations to these seniors for their diligence, critical thinking, and collaboration!

First and sixth grade reading buddies met today to make snowflakes to decorate downtown for the parade of lights. ❄️❄️Pictured are Mrs. Sigloh’s first graders and Mrs. Wenger’s sixth graders.

Third grade Language Arts classes had the opportunity to write persuasive letters helping Hairball Haven and For Belle's Sake animal shelters. Students met with Hairball Haven on Zoom to meet some of their animals. Then they were each assigned an animal of their choice to convince the public to adopt them. The letters and drawings were sent to the shelters so they can possibly help those animals. They really enjoyed this writing project and hope all their animals get adopted!
