Thank you to the Stanley Lions Club for providing free vision screening for our students last week. If you had a student identified as having vision needs and need financial support in providing for those needs, please contact me at: brooks.stafslien@k12.nd.us or 701-628-2422 ext. 203 for more information. Also a special thank you to the Stanley Fire Department for teaching our students about fire safety and volunteering your time to open up the fire hall for all students K-2. Students were able to see our fire fighters in full uniform, explore fire trucks, ask questions, and they even came back with some goodie bags. Reminder that this Friday Upper Missouri Health will be providing vaccinations for any family wishing to have their student participate. This year they will be providing influenza vaccinations, as well as, Covid-19 vaccines (students 12 and up). This vaccination clinic is completely voluntary and if you wish to have your student participate, please return the informational sheets sent home with your students.

“You can’t catch me!” 🏃🏼‍♀️ Our class has been learning about elements of folktales by reading several versions of “The Gingerbread Man!” We finished off the week having fun with GINGERBREAD STATIONS! We completed a math challenge, word search, and designed our own gingerbread man! The most FUN of all was creating our own movie version of the tale by using a green screen! 🎬

Blue Jay Families, A recent topic trending among children/teens on TikTok is called "Devious Licks" where students steal objects and show off what they have taken on their social media posts. Unfortunately, this trend has made it into our school. We experienced incidents of stolen items and vandalism that mimics the popular TikTok trend. The identified trend for October through the TikTok platform is "Smack a staff member on the backside". The act of physically striking a staff member with hands or any object will not be tolerated and will be dealt with severely. In addition to any school consequences, law enforcement will also be called. We ask that our families speak to their children about social media, current trends taking place, and how these trends could impact their future. We want nothing more than our students and staff to take pride in our school and respect all members. Please know that any actions against any member of our school will lead to consequences. Thank you for your support in helping us teach our children the importance of doing what is right and not falling into irresponsible actions that can lead to harm.
