This is week is Red Ribbon Week at the Stanley Schools. This morning the high school held their first ever Red Ribbon Week Talent Show where our students shared the gifts that show that we have better things to do than drugs and alcohol. These kids were amazing! Click on the link below for a short highlight video of our talent show!

4th grade has been learning about levels of government. To get a more hands on experience, the classes took a trip to City Hall last Thursday where they met Mayor Weisenberger and Councilman Taylor. The kids got to see where our local government meets and ask questions about the process. We may have a future councilperson or mayor in the group!

Check out the elementary counseling newsletter for social-emotional topics we're working on in November!

Stanley Elementary Halloween Parade will take place on Friday, October 29th, starting at 1:30pm. Students will exit the building at the Gym Exit (NE corner) and will enter again at the main office (SW corner). We will not be utilizing the gym this year so if parents want to watch the parade, they are welcome to find a spot along the parade route to see students in their costumes (see attached picture for the parade route).

Have you seen the newly updated K-5 Music Classroom Website? It has TONS of information about your student's Music Education all in one place! There are weekly/monthly lesson plans, concert dates, content standards, and even a page just for kids with music games and exercises! I am always updating the website, so feel free to check back any time! :)

Next week is Red Ribbon Week at Stanley Public Schools! Wear your Red on Monday!

Stanley Elementary students participated in a bus evacuation drill on Monday, October 18th. They learned procedures to get safely off the bus in the event of an emergency. Thank you to our bus drivers for helping the students learn the importance of bus safety.

Stanley Elementary School has two buddy benches (one on each playground). The purpose of the buddy bench is to foster friendships and inclusive behaviors. If a student doesn't have someone to play with at recess, they can sit on the buddy bench. This is a signal for other students to include that student in their games. It is a great opportunity to meet new friends and include other students in recess activities. Great job, Stanley Elementary.

Stanley Elementary students had the opportunity to visit a working ranch, meet some new animals and explore the different jobs on the ranch. They were also treated to a snack. Thanks so much to Amanda and Joe Hynek for welcoming our students and showing them around you ranch.
