Due to sewer issues, the Stanley Lions Holiday Tournament will have to be moved to Berthold and Ray. See the attached bracket for the location changes.

📖 Because of Winn Dixie Party! 🐕
After finishing the novel, Mrs. Stafslien’s class enjoyed “sandwiches, pickles, lozenges, and animal crackers” which all appear in the book, during our party today! The kids LOVED this story and so far, love the movie too! Thanks to the parents who helped with this!

Hello Everybody!! Aunt Bethany and Uncle Louis made a visit to Stanley High today for ‘Dress As Your Favorite Christmas Character’ day.

Last night the governor announced that his executive order that placed restrictions on athletic contests is set to expire on Monday. This announcement was in addition to NDHSAA passing new guidelines on attendance. Stanley will now allow 300 fans at our games based off of the graduated guidance (see image). For the Lions Tournament starting on Monday, each school will be given 150 tickets per game in Stanley and Ray but 125 tickets per team at Berthold. During the regular season, District 16 voted to distribute up to 75% of the allowable tickets to the home school and up to 25% of the tickets for away schools. For Stanley that would be 225 home tickets and 75 away. Since not all gym sizes are the same, ticket numbers will change based on the host sites gym capacity, but the percentages of distribution will remain the same. Masks are required for all of those in attendance and concessions will remain closed until further notice.

Parents of Jr High/Sr High Students: If your child fails a first semester class, they are ineligible for the first two weeks at the start of the next semester. Please check Powerschool for your child's grades.
Today in Mr. Hellman’s social studies classes the students continued learning about the causes and start of the US Civil War. To show the differences in supplies and weapons the class got to have a mock battle with paper “bullets.” Union soldiers had 3 shots while Confederate soldiers had one. At the end all students battled Mr. Hellman who represented the south at the end of the war. Much like the confederate states, he lost!

Elementary students who are online are welcome to join our Lunch Bunch on Teams! It's a great time to hang out with some classmates who are in-person at school and laugh and talk with friends! Attached is a schedule of lunch bunch dates. The elementary school counselor, Mrs. Cuypers will start a meeting in the grade level counseling Team for your group. This is not required at all, but you can join when you'd like to. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Cuypers at the elementary school!

Mrs. Evensvold's Desktop Publishing/FBLA students created their own Christmas Activity Book as a class. Almost every page was created from scratch and I am very impressed with their work! Copies were given to students in grades 1-3, but you can view and print your own copy by following the link below.

Sign up for next semester’s distance learning will close on December 7th. If you are enrolling your child in distance learning, this will be for the entire semester. Additionally, if you miss the sign up deadline, your child will not be able to sign up for distance learning. Families will need to make their decisions regardless of a mask mandate, as students will not be able to move back and forth from distance learning to in-person learning. Again, you will be signing up for the entire semester.
Our previous link was to gauge interest in distance learning. To formally sign up for distance learning, you must call the building principal. Deadline for signing up is December 7th at 4:30pm. Please call your building principal with any questions. Thank you.

No objections here! Senior forensics successfully concluded the 2020 mock trials. All teams came with their game faces and ready to argue. The epic courtroom battles resulted in two not guilty verdicts.
A special thanks to Wade Enget, Heather Lee, and Traci Hysjulien of the Mountrail County Courthouse for making this day a possibility. An additional thankyou to the jurors who volunteered their morning listening to the cases and deliberating the verdicts. The 2020 jurors included Pam Germundson, Matthew Heidbreder, Cammi Hysjulien, Lauri Hynek, Lisa Lapica, Calli Hennessy, Barb Nesheim, and Heather Lee. Thank you for your time and service.
A shout-out to all participating seniors. Your efforts and preparedness were remarkable. The way each of your handled the pressures of the courtroom and dominated were outstanding! #ScienceSwag

The staff of Stanley Public Schools would like to thank the wonderful people at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ross for gifting each of us with a $10 gift card to The Rustic Bean.
