Mr. Brence was able to hand out some treats courtesy of McDonalds. Some garbage was left on our playground from the game the night before, but when Brence had time to pick up the garbage after his morning duties, he was surprised to find everything had been cleaned up. In order to thank the students he went to McDonalds to get them all treats, but they graciously decided to donate free Happy Meals to all of the students involved. Thank you McDonalds and great job Blue Jays.

Activities Night
Mrs. Verano’s Science class has been exploring the nature of sound, and today’s lesson came to life in an exciting way. The students had the opportunity to learn from guest speaker Mr. George Littlecreek, who shared his knowledge and passion for sound, along with his assistant, Vince Meduna. Through engaging demonstrations, they showed how sound works, including the differences between low and high pitch and how sound changes with different frequencies. Students were especially amazed during the interactive activities, where they moved around the room to experience how air affects sound. One highlight was observing how sprinkles vibrated as sound was produced, helping students clearly see sound waves in action. It was a fun and memorable learning experience that sparked curiosity and excitement in the classroom.

It was a great day to be a Speechie! We participated in our Regional Competition, hosted by Powers Lake. All competing members placed in one event or another, and we added a couple more state qualifiers to our roster. Special thanks to Senior Speechie Lizzie Nelson who couldn't compete today but still came along and cheered everyone on! Next up: State Speech!

📣 Important End-of-Year Reminder – Parents of students in grades 7-12, please read 📣

🚨 Please plan accordingly for May 21 & May 22:
These are Semester Test Days for Grades 7–12, and students who are required to take finals are expected to be in attendance. As you begin making summer travel plans, please keep these dates in mind.

🗓 Semester Test Days:
May 21 & May 22

✔️ Grades 7–8:
All students will take their semester tests.

✔️ Grades 9–12:
Students may be exempt from finals if they meet the following criteria (unless a teacher requires the exam):

Final Exam Exemption Guidelines:

A average: up to 4 absences

C average: up to 2 absences

❗ Students must take finals if:

They have a D or lower in the class
They have more than 4 absences in that class
They have received in-school or out-of-school suspension

📌 Additional notes:

Students who are exempt may still choose to take the final with teacher approval
