Reading Month kicked off at Stanley Elementary School. This year’s Reading Month is circus themed. At the kick-off, students were entertained by gymnasts, plate spinners, strong men, and a sword swallower. Throughout the month, students read to earn prizes and to get enough points for teachers and staff members to kiss a camel.

On March 28th, a representative from the American Heart Association stopped by and presented certificates to students that raised $250.00 or more for the 2025 Kids Heart Challenge. Stanley Elementary School also set a new school and state record for funds raised in this year's heart challenge and was awarded the Legendary Award by the American Heart Association. A big thank you goes out to all of the people that donated money and also to all of the students that participated in the Kids Heart Challenge..

🎶 **Congratulations to Alexis Lappara on her incredible All- State Band Achievement!** 🎶 Alexis earned a spot in the prestigious All-State Band, representing Stanley with talent and dedication! To reach this level, she competed in the All-State Music Auditions at Bismarck State University on January 10th, where she performed a challenging solo, memorized two scales, and was judged alongside 954 musicians. Alexis was one of just 98 students selected statewide—an amazing accomplishment! From March 23rd to 25th, Alexis joined top musicians from across North Dakota for three days of intense rehearsals, working with the renowned Dr. Peter Loel Boonshaft, a conductor with experience across the U.S. and around the world. The event concluded with a concert that showcased the hard work and dedication of the performers. Alexis reflected on the experience: "All-State was a wonderful experience! I met so many awesome and experienced players and even improved myself. Working with Dr. Boonshaft and the rest of the band will be a memory I cherish for the rest of my life!" Way to go, Alexis!

The sophomore class at Stanley High School stepped out of the classroom and into the workforce on Thursday, April 3, 2025, as they participated in job shadow experiences across various industries. A total of 51 students took part in the initiative, exploring careers in fields such as insurance, banking, engineering, mechanics, education, hospitality, medicine, electrical work, agronomy, management, customer service, and more. To prepare for the event, each student selected a career field that interested them, and the school worked to arrange placements within the Stanley community. A few students also had the opportunity to job shadow in nearby towns. We are incredibly grateful for the businesses and professionals who took time out of their busy schedules to mentor our students. These experiences provide valuable insight and firsthand knowledge about different careers, helping students make informed decisions about their futures. Throughout the day, students gained a deeper understanding of their chosen professions by observing daily tasks, asking questions, and interacting with professionals in the field. Many returned with a renewed sense of direction for their future studies and career paths. Stanley High School extends its sincere appreciation to all the local businesses and organizations that made this experience possible. Their generosity and willingness to support students in their career exploration play a vital role in shaping the next generation of professionals.

Today, the 5th graders at Stanley Elementary had a blast learning all about wheat and the bread-making process! A huge thank you to NDSU Williams County Extension for bringing this hands-on experience to our students. Each kiddo got to mix, knead, and shape their very own loaf of honey wheat bread—and they were so excited to take it home to bake and share with their families! What a fun and delicious way to learn about agriculture and where our food comes from! 🍞🌾

Mrs. Verano’s Science class is exploring the weather and atmosphere. To bring the lesson to life, students participated in a forecasting drama where they dressed up as news anchors and delivered weather reports. They covered topics such as the layers of the atmosphere, how air forms, and the science behind blizzards, hurricanes, and tornadoes. This activity helped students engage with meteorological concepts in a fun and interactive way!
