Mrs. Sandeen's second grade class made and delivered tie blankets to different places in the community as part of a winter kindess project sponsored by Thrivent. They also sang Christmas carols to the residents of Rosen Place. It was a great day to spread kindness and cheer!

We have been made aware of a nation-wide viral threat circulating on social media regarding gun violence in schools on Friday, December 17. The threats seem to be vague and unspecific to any particular location. We believe it originated with TikTok. There have been no specific threats made about our schools.
Though there have been no specific threats to our schools, we have been in contact with the City of Stanley Police Department and the Mountrail County Sheriff’s Office and will continue to stay vigilant about potential threats, as always. We know that the best security system we have continues to be the eyes and ears of our students who contact trusted adults when they see unsafe behaviors or situations. Please remind your students that we need their help to keep our schools and community safe. Encourage your students to report any concerning messages they see to a trusted adult.
If anyone hears of any potential threats to our schools, please report it to school administration or law enforcement immediately.
This is an unfortunate reminder of the serious responsibilities that come with social media usage. We respectfully request that you monitor your child’s smartphone and social media use, and talk to them about proper use of social media.

Semester finals are set for December 15 and 16 at the high school. All junior high students will be taking their finals those days. Students in grades 9-12 may be exempt if their grades and attendance are within exemption requirements. Permission slips for exemptions were sent home today. Teachers will initial their class period if your child is exempt for that hour. Per school policy, teachers may require a student to take the final for their class. If the class period is highlighted, students are required to take the final in that period. Permission slips must be returned with a parent signature and teacher signatures for your child to be exempt that day. If you have any questions, please call the office directly. We do not have the resources to monitor this post for questions.

Grab your coffee or tea, and take a few minutes to learn about the positive effects that mindfulness has on behavior, attention, self-regulation, and symptoms of anxiety! Coffee with the Counselor will also focus on ways to practice mindfulness with your kids!

Reminder to parents to pull to the nearest available area that allows access to a sidewalk when dropping your students off before and after school. Please refrain from dropping your students off in driving lanes. We have staff available to help students at the crosswalks if you have to cross the street to safely park.
Please make sure your students are coming to school and back home with appropriate winter dress. Students will be outside for recess until temperatures/wind chill reach -13 F. Students should come to school with boots, hats, gloves, winter jackets, and face coverings. If assistance is needed to purchase required clothing, dont hesitate to contact our office. Also, please remember to check that winter items are also coming home with them as well. We have a number of lost and found items in the office area that have been unclaimed for quite some time.
