Parents of Junior High and High School students: In an effort to manage the screen time your child has each day while still continuing education, we have adjusted the video check in times. Teachers in core content classes are now scheduled for video chat in the mornings one day a week and in the afternoon another day per week. Non-core classes are scheduled on Wednesday. These are times for your child to check in virtually with the teacher and ask questions about any assignment or content. These are not the ONLY times your child’s teacher is available - you, or your child, may contact that teacher at any point to set up a virtual meeting, chat, or phone call. However, these are the times your child’s teacher will have a specific time set aside for a virtual check in. If technology allows, we ask your child to check in to a virtual meeting with each teacher at least once a week. However, the other methods of communication - emails, Teams, chat, are also excellent ways to reach teachers and should be utilized by both teachers and students throughout the week as well. Thank you for your patience. We know this has been a lot to handle at home. It’s been a great deal change for us at the school as well. We are learning as we go and are working diligently to make the best choices for students as we strive to find a balance between learning and screen time. Please see the attached schedules as a reference. Teachers will be in contact with your students regarding specific meeting times.
