Sixth graders practiced counting back change today during math class. They are ready to work concessions at the high school next year! 🍿💵🍭

Prom is just around the corner!

Mr. Hellman’s 4th graders continued learning how to manage money and write checks. Today was their first dose of “adulting.” They received an electric bill for $2 and had to write a check to pay it and then balance their checkbooks. They were not thrilled about their first bill but are enjoying learning how to pay bills!

On April 11th, 2024, students in grades 9-10 have the opportunity to participate in a special program focusing on the dangers of social media and the consequences of their online activities. This program will be presented by Mr. Mark Leinweaver, a renowned speaker in the field. Students will depart Stanley School at 8:35 for Kenmare High School where we will attend the assembly. Students will return approximately around noon.
During this program, students will engage in discussions and activities aimed at increasing their awareness of the potential risks associated with social media usage as well as learning about responsible online behavior.
If you would like to opt your child out of this presentation, please print and sign the attached slip. Extra copies are available in the high school office.

Join the Stanley Band at their Spring Concert tomorrow, April 9 at 7:00pm in the High School Gym. Come hear the hard work these students have put in this year in their large group pieces as well as solos and small groups that they performed at the Region IX Instrumental Contest last week.

Mr. Hellman’s math class started learning how to manage and use a checking account today. They started by making their own checks and starting a check register. Throughout the next few weeks they will be earning money for classroom jobs, paying Mr. Hellman for bills and buying fun things with extra money.

Reminder: FFA Meeting Tomorrow!

Sophomore Prom Cleanup
📅 Date: April 14, Sunday
🕒 Time: 6:00pm
Teamwork is important to making prom happen every year. It is the sophomore class role to clean up.
Your attendance is critical in making sure prom is a successful event. Attendance is mandatory if you expect to get out of classes as a junior to help with the decorating.
Pizza will be provided. We look forward to seeing all of the sophomores there.
If you cannot attend due to a prior commitment but would still like to decorate as a junior, please see Ms. Cheryl Demafiles to find an alternate way in which you can help in the process.

Today in Mr. Hellman’s social studies classes the students learned about the honor flight. They then made “Thank you for your service” cards that will be passed out to the veterans on the upcoming honor flight. We had a blast making cards to thank our veterans!
