Senior, Abby Wing is conducting a drive for Bravery Backpacks! Abby is a member of the Honor Society and has chosen this to fulfill her community service project requirement. The Bravery Backpack project was chosen by her because she feels as though she can help not only the brave little ones in Stanley, but also the children all over North Dakota who are escaping bad situations. When these kids are taken abruptly out of their homes and bad situations they don't typically have time to grab any personal items and these backpacks are given to these kids to provide a few personal items to help them in their transitions and give them some comfort. She is hoping that through this project, with the help of the community, she can make an impact in many kids' lives, especially when they need hope and love the most.
You can drop off any items on the list that are used to pack one of these bags for these courageous kids from now or until January 19th. You can even bring a filled pack if you wish. The donation drop off locations are in the office at the Stanley High School or Elementary School. Please see a list of needed items below:

Reminder that students that are not assigned to a specific bus and driver are not allowed to travel on a school bus with another student unless the front office is contacted ahead of time. Permission can only be granted by the guest riders parents/guardians. For example, if student A wants friends B and C to ride the bus after school for any reason. Student B's parent/guardian and student C's parent/guardian has to communicate with the front office about the change. Student A's parent/guardian can not give permission for Student B and C. Please give a reasonable amount of time for the front office to make the change. Time is needed to contact the bus driver and also to account for the number of riders before permission is granted. Asking permission while buses are loading is not an reasonable amount of time to properly prepare and permission will only be granted under special circumstances unforeseen by families, such as a family emergency.

Please see the attached information regarding semester tests (finals) for students in grades 9-12. All students in grades 7 & 8 take finals.
If you have questions about your individual child's final test exemptions/requirements please call the office.
