Reading Month has started at the Elementary School and the theme is "Catch a Dragon by the Tale!" 🐉 Our dragon made an appearance to catch kids reading! If they were, they got a prize! Keep reading everyone because the dragon will return!

Stanley FBLA competed at the State Leadership Conference yesterday in Bismarck, ND. Our awards ceremony scheduled for today was canceled due to weather. While we patiently wait for our results, we can share our chapter awards. Stanley received Gold Level Chapter status this year and placed fifth in the state for our fundraising money donated to the March of Dimes.

Braxton Istilart spent the past weekend representing Stanley High School at the ND All-State Music Festival in Bismarck. He completed a live audition in January before being selected to the group. Braxton worked with the top musicians from around the state under the direction of Dr. T. André Feagin, Director of Bands at Central Washington University. World renowned composer, John Mackey, was also in residence for the Festival to work with the students on his programmed piece Some Treasures are Heavy with Human Tears.

Stanley elementary students will begin the ND state assessment next week! 3rd and 4th graders will test during the week of March 27th - 31st, and 5th and 6th graders are scheduled for the week of April 3rd - 6th. We've been taking time to prepare and feel confident for testing by practicing some coping skills and strategies for working through challenging test questions. Students are also getting a chance to do a practice test ahead of time to help ease any nervousness and anxiety. I've attached some test-taking tips and coping skills that students can practice!
