Please wear green on Monday, January 27th for Laykas, a student from Tioga. His family has many ties to the Stanley Community.

This is our lost and found table at the high school. There's lots of items that need to find their original home - including multiple pairs of shoes, a full backpack, and a coat. If your child is missing something, encourage them to check the table. Next week we will clean off the table and donate the items.

Today, Mrs. Verano’s science class built DNA models using Twizzlers and gummy worms. Students have been learning that chromosomes are composed of DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid). As part of the activity, they had the opportunity to create their own DNA models. While connecting the base pairs, some students accidentally mismatched them, which led to discussions about mutations. It was exciting to see the students actively engaged and enjoying the learning process.

The JV wrestling tournament for tomorrow 1/18 has been canceled.

This morning there was a medical situation in one of the hallways at the high school. We asked students not to transition to their next period class to afford that individual some privacy and allow the ambulance personnel room to work. There was no safety concern for the rest of the building. Once the hallway was cleared, students resumed their day as normal.

Today, Mrs. Verano’s science class dissected a sea star as part of their lesson on sexual and asexual reproduction. The students were fascinated as they carefully observed the sea star’s anatomy. They noted that, unlike humans, sea stars lack an external skeleton and instead possess an endoskeleton. This hands-on activity not only captivated their interest but also deepened their understanding of the sea star’s unique structure and reproductive processes. It was an engaging and educational experience!
