The Stray Sanctuary in Van Hook has taken in an overwhelming number of stray pups to save them from this cold. They are in dire need of supplies. Student Council is holding a supply drive and fundraiser next week, Jan 10-14. Students may wear hats all week and teachers may wear jeans for a $5 donation. Blankets, towels and cleaning supplies can be dropped in a drop box at the high school and will be delivered to the sanctuary. In addition, you may view the Sanctuary’s wishlist here: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/36GPZ17VHCCK5?ref_=wl_share

High School report cards and honor roll will be done next week. We had several students sick during finals that need to do make-up exams. If you see an "I" in a PowerSchool grade that means incomplete. Sorry for the delay.

Mrs. Sandeen's second grade class made and delivered tie blankets to different places in the community as part of a winter kindess project sponsored by Thrivent. They also sang Christmas carols to the residents of Rosen Place. It was a great day to spread kindness and cheer!

We have been made aware of a nation-wide viral threat circulating on social media regarding gun violence in schools on Friday, December 17. The threats seem to be vague and unspecific to any particular location. We believe it originated with TikTok. There have been no specific threats made about our schools. Though there have been no specific threats to our schools, we have been in contact with the City of Stanley Police Department and the Mountrail County Sheriff’s Office and will continue to stay vigilant about potential threats, as always. We know that the best security system we have continues to be the eyes and ears of our students who contact trusted adults when they see unsafe behaviors or situations. Please remind your students that we need their help to keep our schools and community safe. Encourage your students to report any concerning messages they see to a trusted adult. If anyone hears of any potential threats to our schools, please report it to school administration or law enforcement immediately. This is an unfortunate reminder of the serious responsibilities that come with social media usage. We respectfully request that you monitor your child’s smartphone and social media use, and talk to them about proper use of social media.

Parents of students in grades 7-12, when you pick up your children in the afternoon, please do not block the driving lane that goes east and west through our parking lot. We need this area open to allow vehicles to exit the parking lane.
