The North Dakota Cheer Coach Association (www.northdakotacheer.com) will host the
North Dakota State Winter 2021 Cheerleading Competition on Saturday, March 20,
2021 at the Minot Municipal Auditorium, 420 3rd Ave. SW, Minot. The championship is
at 1:00 pm, doors will open at 12:00 pm. Admission is Adults - $10, Students - $5
Cash Only It is a MASK Required event.
The event is highly anticipated after the cancellation of March 2020 competition only 7
days prior to the event and a semi virtual event held Fall 2020. The last event with fans
and spirit was held November 2019 in Fargo. There is ample seating for the event with
masks required. The MC will be Becky Farr of KX-13.
Seventeen schools will be represented, 8 Class A and 9 Class B, in 6 events. Team
events include: Championship Routine with cheer, stunts, tumbling and dance, Time
Out Cheer to include intense 1 minute routine starting and ending on basketball buzzer,
Game Day Routine to feature live game simulation including school song, band chant,
cheer, and Stunt Group competition featuring 4-5 cheerleaders performing continuous
stunts for 1 minute with degree of difficulty. Individual events will be All Around
Cheerleader routine and Jump- off Challenge.
The cheerleaders state-wide have survived the Covid pandemic with conforming to
health restrictions, wearing masks and avoiding close contacts. It has been a struggle
to keep spirit up with limited fans, cancellations, and scaled back playoff and
tournaments however school spirit is alive and well in ND. The NDCCA State
Cheerleading Competition is a time to celebrate the high school cheerleaders of North
Dakota and their outstanding skills! The public is invited to attend and witness the
teams superior efforts.
